Nissan Micra 1.4 16v SVE 5dr

I am a big fan of these little Micras – which is why I sell so many – for me this was the best series of the lot.

This “Little-Belter” has a great deal going for it – with one exception, the colour! As with most red cars of this age it suffers from Sun Bleach – the pigment in the paint has reacted to sunlight and gone dull. This does not alter the fact it provides all the important things you need – it starts – it runs – it’s reliable AND with care and maintenance it should have a good few years left in it – which lets face it in this price range, for me, that is more important than shiny paint.

OK it may not impress the neighbours or win first place in the Annual best dressed Micra Awards (if there is such a thing?) but who cares as long as it does what is says on the tin.

There is no such thing as the “perfect car” but just take a look around at how many of these of a similar age are still on the road – that speaks for itself. As soon as we put this up on a ramp we could tell how well it has been looked after – it looks like it’s had New Brake Discs and Pads and front Wishbones have recently been replaced.

Our contribution has been to replace the rear brake shoes – carry out a Service and MOT and give it a good polish. Now that my lads have completed its preparation I am really pleased with how it’s turned out.

I have no doubt there are cheaper ones around BUT when you take the whole package into consideration it represents very good value for money. Candidly in this price sector of the market “a little knowledge can be very dangerous” and the number of lemons around far outweigh the number of peaches!

I doubt this will be with me for very long.

Coming with a 12 Month MOT, Service and our own THREE MONTH WARRANTY – this really is excellent value for money.
